Neal Samanski scored twice to lead Powell River Kings to a 3-1 win over Nanaimo Clippers in BC Hockey League playoff action on Monday, March 4. The road win in game three gives the Kings a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven Island Division semi-final series.

Clippers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead before Samanski’s pair of powerplay goals, one coming midway through the first period and another at the 10:53 mark of the second. Mitchell Williams set up both goals, while Ben Thomas and Ryan Pouliot collected one assist each.

Kings forward Levi Glasman added an insurance marker at 13:36 of the second period to close out the scoring, with assists coming from Ethan Martini and Ethan Kimball.

Goaltender Mitch Adamyk turned aside 18 of 19 shots to earn his second win of the series.

Attendance was 1,397.

Game four is also slated for Frank Crane Arena in Nanaimo on Tuesday, March 5. Game time is 7 pm.

Game five is scheduled for 7 pm on Thursday, March 6, at Hap Parker Arena in Powell River.
