Powell River Kings' forward Simone Dadiè scored his 11th and 12th goals of the BC Hockey League season in Victoria on March 8, but the host Grizzlies spoiled the effort with a come-from-behind overtime win.

Powell River Kings fell short in a pair of road games last weekend, suffering defeats to Victoria Grizzlies (6-5) and Alberni Valley Bulldogs (6-3).

Kings led by scores of 2-0, 4-2 and 5-4 on Friday, March 8, at the Q Centre in Victoria, but the host Grizzlies forced overtime with a late third-period goal and converted a power play in extra time into the game winner for a 6-5 win.

Simone Dadiè scored twice for Powell River. Wyatt Davis, Thomas Belzil and Will Jones were the other goal-scorers for the Kings, while their teammate Christian Maro recorded three assists.

Twenty-four hours later at Alberni Valley Multiplex, Kings fell behind 3-1 after 20 minutes of play and never recovered. Bulldogs scored twice more in the second period before Maro cut the deficit to 5-2 heading into period three, when the teams exchanged goals, including the fifth of the BC Hockey League (BCHL) season for Powell River forward Alex Sandhu.

Tre Peck also scored for the Kings, who host Cowichan Valley Capitals for a pair of games on March 15 (7 pm) and 16 (5 pm) at Hap Parker Arena. Capitals hold a four-point lead over the Kings for the final playoff spot in the BCHL Coastal Conference. Both teams have played 48 of 54 regular season games.
