Powell River Minor Baseball Mosquito teams squared off in playoff action recently, with clubs sponsored by Carlson Community Club, Local 76, Valley Building Supplies and Kiwanis, featuring players ages nine to 11, vying for the championship.
After semi-final games were held on Monday, June 25, Carlson Club defeated Valley Building in the final on Wednesday, June 27, earning first place and claiming the title. Kiwanis won the third-place game over Local 76.
During the regular season, the teams played 12 games each; Valley Building finished first, followed by Carlson Club, Local 76 and Kiwanis.
