Powell River Kings' forward Anthony Lucarelli scored two of his team's four goals in a win over Prince George Spruce Kings on February 24.

Two power play goals by Anthony Lucarelli solidified a win for Powell River Kings over Prince George Spruce Kings on Friday, February 24.

After a scoreless first period at Kopar Memorial Arena in Prince George, Powell River scored a trio of second period goals, including Lucarelli’s 15th of the BC Hockey League (BCHL) season, which gave the visitors a 2-0 lead. Turner Richards opened the scoring and Parker Lalonde made it 3-0 just 40 seconds prior to intermission.

Prince George briefly cut the deficit to 3-1 early in the third period but Lucarelli restored the three goal lead with his second of the night to make the final 4-1.

Goaltender Liam Vanderkooi turned aside 36 shots and was named first star ahead of Lucarelli (second) and Lalonde, who also set up one goal. Team scoring leader Karter McNarland also picked up an assist, as did Anthony Yu.

Prince George outshot Powell River 37-25 in front of 1,061 fans.

Powell River returns to action tonight (February 25) in Chilliwack. Game time is 6 pm.
