Powell River Kings midget rep hockey team celebrated winning the Vancouver Island Amateur Hockey Association Tier 3 district championship at home on March 3.
The club eliminated Port Alberni in a best-of-three series sweep by scores of 3-2 and 6-1.
With the win, the team earned a berth in the provincial championships, which take place in West Vancouver from March 17 to 22.
Teams participating in the season-ending tournament include Greater Vernon, Squamish, Cranbrook, Castlegar, Dawson Creek, Mission, Terrace and the host team.
