Sports brief: Powell River Kings take game one

After Neal Samanski opened the scoring midway through the second period at Frank Crane Arena in Nanaimo, Obbsuth set up goals by Carter Turnbull and Josh Coblenz to put the Kings ahead 3-0 after 40 minutes.

Obbsuth increased the lead to 4-0 with an unassisted goal early in the third period.

Affiliate goaltender Derek Krall saved 31 of 32 shots to earn the win. Game two takes place at 7 pm on Saturday, March 3, also in Nanaimo.
