Powell River Bantam Rep Kings put on an offensive display in their first game at the BC Hockey Bantam Tier 3 Championship in Nelson on Sunday, March 18.

According to assistant coach Scott Mastrodonato, the team “came out flying and never gave up” in a 14-1 win over Cranbrook. In the same pool, Mission looked strong in a 9-0 win over Greater Trail, said Mastrodonato.

A win over Trail on Monday, March 19, will secure a berth in the semi-final for the local bantams, regardless of the outcome of their game against Mission on Tuesday, March 20.

Meanwhile, Fernando Menendez, Cole Stocker and Mike Behan each scored once to lead Powell River Midget Rep Kings to a 3-1 win over Castlegar in their first game at the BC Hockey Midget Tier 3 Championship on Sunday, March 18, in West Vancouver.

The team faces Squamish in its second game of round-robin play on Monday, March 19.
