High school gymnastics
Powell River gymnasts from Brooks Secondary School and Assumption School competed in the BC School Sport Championships in North Vancouver at Sutherland Secondary School from March 5 to 7. Desiree Young, Kaitlyn Jacques, Uma Picken, Alena Plesner and Marieke Gutter-Spence placed 12th overall in Level Two competition. Rachel Peckford won gold in Level Three. Assumption student Katie Dohm came 11th overall in Level Five. Tyler Rhys placed fifth overall in Level Three Boys’ competition.
