First of two competitions takes place
Students run cross-country race

Runners from elementary schools in the area took part in the first of two cross-country races, April 16.

According to organizers, all of the runners ran an excellent race around the course created by Westview Elementary School. The rabbits from Brooks Secondary School did a very good job keeping the runners going in the right direction.

The top six runners from each grade level for boys and girls are listed below:

• Grade three girls: first Elizabeth Jensen, Kelly Creek Community School (KCCS); second Charlotte Leahy-McHugh, Edgehill Elementary School (EES); third Maia Pinsonneault, École Côte du Soleil (ECdS); fourth  Luce Liefsoens, ECdS; fifth Makenna Banks, Westview Elementary School (WES); sixth Brynn Reid, Assumption School (AS).

• Grade three boys: first Tyler Durant, KCCS; second Justin Dendewicz, EES; third Evan Piniewski, Henderson Elementary School (HES); fourth Kye Pence, AS; fifth Liam Carroll, ECdS; sixth Max Carlson, James Thomson Elementary School (JTES).
