Ministry of Education says it will consult with teachers and parents

City of Powell River should consider ponying up $137,000 in order to assume ownership of the soon-to-be-vacant land site at the former Inn at Westview ["Demolition underway at former Inn at Westview in Powell River," December 14].

One of the most pivotal events in B.C. politics is going to take place early in the new year, and it will either weaken the stability of the NDP government or consolidate its grip on power.

There are approximately 9,000 societies in BC. About half of these could be put into the “social” or “small business” category. The BC Societies Act White Paper was distributed on November 28, 2016, to be enacted on November 28, 2018.

Healthy eating can sometimes take a backseat during the holiday season, only to reappear come Jan. 1. With busy schedules and festive gatherings, it can be challenging to carry healthy habits through the winter months.

Dilapidated, abandoned, sorry-looking, pilloried, The Inn at Westview deserved a much different ending than the slow neglect that lasted for years.

Now that permits are in place and demolition of the former Inn at Westview building owned by Seaboard Hotels is underway, an issue that has plagued multiple generations of City of Powell River council is on its way to being resolved.

I’m writing this letter in frustration because of the ALR (Agricultural Land Reserve) and municipal decision regarding the loop on Hemlock Street. [“ City of Powell River has two courses of action to deal with Hemlock Street loop ,” December 7 ].
