In recent years, months and days, tensions surrounding the word “treaty” in Tla’amin (Sliammon) First Nation have ebbed and flowed like tides that wash against the coastal nation’s stretching shores.

Ferry schedules cause frustration Ferries are part of our highway system, we are expected to pay for them [“Cancellations spike with matrix,” July 4]. The least they could do is run on coinciding ferry schedules and have food ready for passengers.

This week deserves to be recorded in any Powell River history as the week when the world came to town. Yesterday, July 3, International Choral K athaumixw started, a five-day celebration of choral music with participants from around the world.
