A time slot is a specific length of time in your day you can set aside to accomplish something. Some examples of how you can use time slots are below.

Maybe you’re waiting for extra time to magically come into your life, to begin writing the book, organize your master closet or do paperwork, and you never seem to find the time to do that.

Chances are, you never will, unless you make that time. If writing a book is your number one priority, then finding the time will be easy.

Here is how you can start:

Schedule a book writing time pocket from 7 to 8 am on Mondays and Wednesdays. Unless you have a major emergency, nothing should interfere with this time pocket.

If you faithfully keep writing, within a few weeks, you should have at least one chapter finished. This accomplishment can give you incredible motivation and confidence to continue your dream to become a bestseller.

What’s holding you back?

Your love and loyalty to surfing Facebook is undeniable. You’re spending a few hours each day admiring beautiful pictures and people who have it all. In the meantime, your home is in a chaotic state and your relationship with your family is in jeopardy. You have to be very careful and aware of your love of social media.

Is it love or an escape from reality? Can you stop anytime, or at least reduce the amount of time you spend there?

A possible solution

Schedule a couple of hours to a chore time pocket to get your chores done. It could be morning or afternoon, if you’re not a morning person. Then, schedule a 30-minute social media time pocket each day.

You will have 210 minutes per week to enjoy social media. But you will also have plenty of time to be productive and get things done. Use the social media time pocket as a reward once your work is done. Don’t deviate here, your home and life are important, and your commitment is needed.

Whether you are not spending enough time doing something you have to do, or you’re spending too much time doing something you like to do, creating time pockets can help. Life is a balancing act of work, pleasure and rewards.

What is your life purpose?

Many of us struggle with the meaning of purposeful life. In the constant search for success and happiness, we tend to neglect the life we already have. Clearly, we’re supposed to build the life given to us without always longing for the life we don’t have.

Purposeful life starts with a decision and commitment to it. Explore all the possibilities of the life you desire, then get busy creating your masterpiece.

Not sure what kind of life you want to live? Connect with people who are living the life you desire.

I will leave you with one of my quotes. “Without persistence, there is no progress.”
