Letter: No money for potholes

Okay, you need to build a new outhouse, right, but why do you want to build an over budget, $10 million fire hall?
letters

This is mainly to the big money spenders in the city, mayor Dave Formosa and more. Okay, you need to build a new outhouse, right, but why do you want to build an over budget, $10 million fire hall [“Powell River fire chief outlines costs and project details for new fire hall, June 3”]?

At the same time, don’t you or anyone else in that place realize that Powell River is now way overtaxed? You can’t pave roads or even fix potholes because you say there is no money for it. So why keep spending?

If you want to waste more of our money then why don’t you finish the sidewalk on the west side of lower Alberni Street from the courthouse down to the apartments? That would make more sense than wanting to waste money to hold meetings to fight over names.
