Powell River Mixed-League Slo-Pitch held its year-end tournament last weekend at Sunset Park. Local team Juggernauts won the event for the first time in the club’s 18-year history.

“I couldn’t be more proud of the effort our group put in for all six games over the weekend,” said coach Chris Moore. Juggernauts finished fifth overall in the regular season standings only to battle their way through all four higher ranked teams to win the event.

“We stayed positive through every pitch of every game no matter what the score,” added Moore. “Our bats were hot and our defence was incredible all weekend. There were some close games against very good ball teams along the way and we finally did it.”
