Nanaimo shuts out Powell River Kings

Nanaimo Clippers scored twice in the first period and added another goal 13:24 into the second en route to a 3-0 win over the visiting Powell River Kings on Sunday, September 29.

Matteo Paler-Chow made 23 saves in the defeat, which dropped the Kings’ record on the season to six wins and three losses. Jordan Naylor stopped all 32 shots he faced to earn the win for the Grizzlies.

Powell River failed to capitalize on five powerplay opportunities. Nanaimo’s scoring all came at even strength.

Attendance at Frank Crane Arena was 1,005.

Kings face a short week as they head to Chilliwack for the BC Hockey League Showcase to play Victoria Grizzlies at 4 pm on Wednesday, October 2, and Langley Rivermen the following afternoon at 1 pm.
