Powell River Villa’s next game, scheduled to be played at home versus Westcastle United on November 21, has been officially postponed due to recent provincial COVID-19 restrictions that banned travel between health regions for sporting activities over a two-week period starting November 7.

The Vancouver Island Soccer League Division 1 match will now take place at Timberlane Park in Powell River on December 12. Villa’s last scheduled home game against Cowichan FC on November 14 was also postponed; no new date has been announced for that matchup.

Powell River is scheduled to return to action on November 29 in Cowichan, followed by a visit to Westcastle (Victoria) on December 6.

Both Cowichan and Westcastle are currently three points ahead of Villa in Division 1 standings.

The restrictions also resulted in the cancellation of two Powell River Kings’ BC Hockey League exhibition games against Cowichan Valley Capitals.
