A 28-year-old Sunshine Coast woman died in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 101 in Roberts Creek on Dec. 30, said Sunshine Coast RCMP.

The two vehicles were driving toward one another when one vehicle veered into oncoming traffic, said Const. Karen Whitby in an email. The incident occurred at 5:50 p.m. in the vicinity of 2789 Sunshine Coast Highway.

A family of four from Vancouver occupied the other vehicle and did not sustain any serious injuries, said Whitby. The deceased woman was the only occupant of her vehicle.

An Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) investigator examined the scene that evening. The file is under investigation and no names of those involved in the incident will be released, said Whitby.
