On this day:
In 1925 Benito Mussolini dissolved the Italian parliament and proclaimed himself dictator of the country.

In 1931, Montreal Maroons centre Nels Stewart scored four seconds apart in a 5-3 win over Boston Bruins at Montreal Arena, setting a record for the fastest two goals in National Hockey League history. The feat was duplicated by Deron Quint of the Winnipeg Jets in a 9-4 win over the Edmonton Oilers during the 1995/1996 season.

In 1977, Apple Computer Inc was incorporated by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak.

In 1987, singer Aretha Franklin was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
