On February 20, Powell River RCMP received a report that mischief to a worksite located on the pole line between Joyce Avenue and Fernwood Street had been committed over the long weekend. A new roadbed that includes cement curbs had just been poured and the cement was still hardening.

At some point over the weekend, several quads and dirt bikes disregarded signage and fencing in the area and drove over the hardening curbs. The cost to replace the damaged section of cement is approximately $6,000.

Anyone with information about any crime is asked to contact Powell River RCMP at 604.485.6255, or to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1.800.222.8477 or bccrimestoppers.com.
