Powell River RCMP reported the following for November 30 to December 6, 2022.

Total calls for service: 97
Thefts: 4
Break and enter: 3
Impaired driving: 1 
Assaults: 1
Mischief: 2
Mental health: 6

December 3; Joyce Avenue
At approximately 7:50 pm, police responded to a traffic collision in the 4600 block of Joyce Avenue. An SUV had side-swiped another vehicle and both vehicles had pulled into a nearby parking lot. Police spoke to the 41-year-old male driver of the SUV and observed that he was slurring his words. The driver admitted to drinking prior to driving. The driver provided a breath sample, which registered a fail on the approved screening device. The driver provided a second sample, which also registered a fail. As a result, the driver was issued a 90-day driving prohibition under the Motor Vehicle Act and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
