Powell River RCMP reported the following for May 27 to June 2, 2021.

June 1; Sunshine Coast Trail
At approximately 8:09 am, RCMP received a report of a hiker in distress on the Sunshine Coast Trail. Police received information that the hiker, a 26-year-old female from Burnaby, was hiking the trail with friends. During the hike, she became dehydrated and needed assistance. Powell River Search and Rescue was notified and the hiker was located near Fiddlehead Farm. She was taken to Powell River General Hospital for assessment.

May 30; Lund
At approximately 7:25 am, police received a report of a theft from a vehicle. A rose gold iWatch SE with a silver mesh band (valued at approximately $500) was stolen from a vehicle parked in the Lund Resort parking lot. After speaking to the owner, it was determined that the theft occurred on May 29 at approximately 9:45 am.

May 28; Zilinsky Road
At approximately 10:27 pm, police were making patrols on Zilinsky Road after receiving a report of a truck speeding in the area. Police located a vehicle matching the description provided and stopped the vehicle near the intersection of Zilinsky Road and Serendipity Road. The driver of the truck, a 25-year-old male from Powell River, showed signs of impairment. Police obtained breath samples using an approved screening device, which registered a fail. The driver was issued a 90-day driving prohibition and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days under provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act.
