On Sunday June 6, 2021, at 5:51 pm, Powell River RCMP received a report of a male with a handgun inside a residence in the 3900 block of Manitoba Avenue, according to a media release.
RCMP attended the scene and located the male inside a vehicle near the residence.
Police executed a search warrant of the residence on Monday, June 7, and seized a number of firearms and ammunition.
The male has been charged with possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm and ammunition under Section 95 of the Criminal Code.
The 29-year-old male remains in custody pending a bail hearing. His next court appearance is June 21, 2021, in Powell River Provincial Court.
