According to a media release from Powell River RCMP, on November 21, 2022, a member of the public called RCMP to report that they believed they saw an individual believed to be Helen Rasmussen on Texada Island.
The caller believed that Rasmussen was a missing person who RCMP were looking for. RCMP attended to the location and confirmed the individual to be Rasmussen, who is safe and no longer missing.
Powell River RCMP and Texada Island RCMP thanked the public for their assistance in locating Rasmussen.
Police asked for the public’s assistance in located a missing person on November 17.
Rasmussen had left her friend’s house in Van Anda on Texada on the morning of November 14, 2022, according to RCMP, and her friends and family had not heard from her since.
She had last been seen at the Texada Market in Van Anda on November 14, at approximately 1 pm.
