Powell River RCMP release court result

Man receives sentence as a result of police investigation into break and enter

In the weekly media release from Powell River RCMP on September 28, police provided an update and result from the following case dating back to 2021:

September 22; Powell River Provincial Court
On November 12, 2021, police responded to a report of a break and enter at a residence in the 4500 block of Harvie Avenue. A bike and generator valued at approximately $2,500 were stolen from inside (the generator was recovered a short time later).

Police reviewed surveillance footage and identified the suspect as Gregory Rubletz, who was charged with break and enter and possession of property obtained by crime.

On September 22, 2022, Rubletz appeared in court and was convicted of break and enter. He was sentenced to a 60-day conditional sentence order with a curfew from 10 pm to 6:30 am and six months of probation.
