Cleopatra Patricia Ruth Edmondson (née Wingrove and Parkhurst)

According to Mom's birth certificate, she was born "on a train between Colonsay and Elbow (aka Elbow) Saskatchewan," to her parents Wilhelmina Engwerin and George Wingrove. She was assisted into this world by the conductor, who then earned the privilege of naming her, hence her initials CPR.

Mom was predeceased by her husband and life-partner of 56 years, Roy, in 2002; her dear daughter Diane on July 4, 1985; her much-loved sisters Shirley Stanley and Vella Henderson; three stepbrothers Charlie, Lige and Bill Parkhurst, and all her Edmonton sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Mom is survived by Linda (Bob) Wade and Dennis Edmondson of Powell River, Lee (Elaine) Edmondson of Lund, five grandchildren Rob (Vikki) Wade, Ken (Carly) Wade, Tami (Gord) Letkeman, Rosalyn (Christopher) Patterson and Megan Edmondson (Filip Tisma), nine great-grandchildren, her sisters Charlotte Griffith and Viola Pilar, her brother-in-law Bob Henderson and many nieces and nephews.

Everything Mom did was for family and she loved each of us in her own way. We no longer have a rousing game of tile rummy or pick-up sticks to look forward to, but we will always have the memories. We have missed her gentle guidance, stories, desserts and witty company for awhile. Her loving hands and heart we will miss forever.

The family thanks all the staff at Willingdon Creek, especially House One, for your never-ending patience and kind care of Mom. The last six years have been made better knowing Mom was safe and loved.

We appreciate and thank everyone for phone calls, cards, flowers and baking.

Honouring Mom's wishes, there will be no service. If you would consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC, BC Cancer Institute or BC Children's Hospital in her name, we know she would have appreciated it.

“Sweet dreams and nighty-night, Mom.”
