We have lost someone so dear and loved, the emptiness of her sudden passing leaves us shocked and inconsolable. Our families, united in grief, make this heartfelt postscript.

Dawn Marie Lane, after a short illness, passed away. She was with family, who never left her side throughout this fateful but short ordeal.

Dawn started life in Moselle, France. She was second born, the first daughter of Donald and Barbara Anderson. Her father, who made a career in the Royal Canadian Air Force, shepherded the family from there to Chatham, New Brunswick, Greenwood, Nova Scotia, and finally Ottawa, Ontario.

Dawn was energetic, and an irrepressible free spirit. She played lacrosse and baseball and excelled at sewing and embroidery, making clothes for her many friends and family. Later, she was overjoyed, some could say overtaken, by the wonder of being a loving grandmother. She spent every spare moment with her grandson Mack.

Dawn leaves behind her ever faithful and caring husband Quentin, son Nickolas (Nicole), daughter Candice (Steve), mother Barbara Young, brothers Rick (Loretta) and Jeff, sister Geri, and the apple of her eye, her grandson MacKenzie. Dawn was predeceased by her father (2015).

A celebration of life, held on September 9, was attended by extended family and her wide circle of friends. It was an exuberant reflection of who Dawn had become and we thank everyone who attended. Special thanks to the nurse and staff of the Palliative Care team at Burnaby General Hospital.

Our grief remains undiminished…
