It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jim Hebert on Saturday, June 7, 2025, due to heart failure.
Born in 1947, Jim grew up in the small town of Pine Falls, Manitoba, with his parents Alma and Eddie, and his siblings Paul and Cathy. From a young age, he worked hard carrying on the legacy of his father, who was a papermaker.
At age 18, Jim moved to BC, working at the Port Alberni, Powell River and Mackenzie paper mills. Throughout his life, he worked diligently, rising through the ranks to the role of machine tender.
In his youth, Jim was known for being a fierce hockey player and a passionate golfer. He was also known for his great love of animals, movies and books.
Predeceased by his parents and siblings, Jim is survived by his wife Maryann, children Sam and Chris, and grandchildren Keva and Bodhi. For those who knew him, the hole he leaves behind will not soon be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the SPCA. There will be no service.
