Powell River U15 Kings win opener at provincials in Quesnel

Vancouver Island champions reach double-digits in goals at BC Hockey Tier 3 championship

Powell River U15 Kings began their quest to win a provincial championship in Quesnel today (March 17).

Kings scored the first seven goals of the game and cruised to a 12-3 win over Dawson Creek. Goal scorers were Jackson Peters (four), Kooper Kozmeniuk (three), Lucas Vizzutti, Connal Miller (two) and Lucas Gruntman (two).  

Powell River faces Prince George on Monday, March 18 (10:45 am), then wraps up Pool A round-robin play against New Westminster on Tuesday, March 19 (12 pm). Semi-final and medal round games take place on Wednesday, March 20.

Nine teams are competing for the title at West Fraser Centre in Quesnel. Powell River earned a spot in the tournament by winning the Vancouver Island Amateur Hockey Association championship earlier this month.
