Powell River Kings finished the preseason portion of their BC Hockey League schedule with an 8-4 loss to Alberni Valley Bulldogs at Chilton Arena in Port McNeill on Sunday, September 18. At the same venue one day earlier, Alberni edged the Kings 1-0.
Powell River won two of its four exhibition games, skating to wins over Chilliwack (5-2) and Langley (4-1) before a pair of losses to the Bulldogs. All four games took place away from home.
Kings open their regular season schedule at home against Nanaimo Clippers on Friday, September 23. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 pm. Those two teams meet again at Hap Parker Arena on Saturday, September 24, when the start time is set for 5 pm.
