Mark D’Agostino reached double digits with his 10th goal of the BC Hockey League season for Powell River Kings on Saturday, January 29, but it was the lone bright spot in an 8-1 loss to Victoria Grizzlies.

The host Grizzlies took a 1-0 lead in the first period, added four more goals in the second, and an additional three in the third before Nic Porchetta and Anthony Lucarelli combined to set up D’Agostino with 37 seconds remaining to break the shutout bid by Grizzlies’ goalie Cole Schwebius.

Victoria outshot Powell River 40-27.

The two teams meet again on January 30 at the Q Centre. Game time is 1 pm.

Kings return home to host Cowichan Valley Capitals at Hap Parker Arena on Wednesday, February 2. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 pm.
