Federal election polls open in Powell River

October 21 is decision day across Canada. Canadian citizens are headed to the polls, which are open until 7 pm in BC, including several locations in the Powell River area, to cast ballots for their party or individual of choice.

North Island-Powell River riding candidates are Rachel Blaney (NDP), Mark de Bruijn (Green Party), Shelley Downey (Conservative Party), Carla Neal (Marxist-Leninist Party), Brian Rundle (People’s Party of Canada), Peter Schwarzhoff (Liberal Party), and Glen Staples (Independent).

Voters must be able to prove their identity, be Canadian citizens and at least 18 years old on election day.
