Powell River RCMP reported the following for June 9 to 15, 2021.

June 9; Myrtle Rock
At approximately 8:30 pm, Powell River RCMP received a report of a drone flying close to the windows of two residences near Myrtle Rock. Through investigation, the pilot was identified and issued a warning. RCMP would like to remind all residents that drones are not to be flown near any buildings, they must be at a minimum 30 metres away from any bystander and flying within a 5.6 kilometre radius of Powell River Airport is chargeable under a Transport Canada statute and results in fines of up to $3,000.

June 13; Bliss Landing
At approximately 5:40 pm, police received a report that a boat and trailer had been stolen from a residential property in Bliss Landing sometime over the previous couple of days. The boat is described as a 2020 Highfield 13-foot rigid-hull inflatable, white and grey in colour with a Yamaha outboard motor. Registration numbers on the side are BC7110128 and it was on a Karavan trailer.

June 14; Jordan Street
At approximately 9:19 am, police received a report that a resident was shooting a pellet gun in order to scare away crows on the property as they had been acting aggressively. Police spoke to the female resident, who was issued a warning. RCMP would like to remind everyone that it is illegal to shoot crows, and that pellet guns cannot be discharged in a neighbourhood as pellets may hit and harm people, vehicles, animals or homes.

June 15; Tin Hat Mountain
At approximately 8:28 pm, police received a report of an injured hiker who was stranded on Tin Hat Mountain. The injured male and his friend were in the middle of a six-day hike and had sufficient food, water and basic first aid supplies. The pair of hikers were safe in the cabin on top of the mountain and it was determined that a rescue would be completed the next morning. At approximately 5:15 am the following day, the hiker was lifted off the mountain by search and rescue via helicopter and transported by ambulance to Powell River General Hospital, where he was treated for his injury.
