Powell River Kings' forward Thomas Belzil will take part in the BC Hockey League Top Prospects game later this month.

Thomas Belzil of the Powell River Kings has been added to the BC Hockey League (BCHL) Coastal Conference roster for the 2024 Top Prospects Game on January 19 at the South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton.

The announcement was made Tuesday, January 9, and included Chilliwack Chiefs forward Savin Virk, who will also join the Coastal Conference team.

Belzil replaces former teammate Noah Eyre, who is currently playing in the United States Hockey League, while Virk will replace Alberni Valley Bulldogs defenceman Jax Wismer, who is injured.

With an extra skater on each roster, the Coastal team will now consist of two goalies, six defencemen and 13 forwards.

Belzil is a 2006-born skater from Trois-Rivières, Quebec, who has three goals and three assists through 26 games this season. He is committed to the University of Massachusetts.

Virk was born in 2007 and has seven goals, six assists and 13 points in 28 contests this year and is committed to Michigan State University.

Replacements were decided based on the original vote by BCHL head coaches and general managers, as well as input from NHL Central Scouting.
