Powell River Kings have signed North Vancouver's Carter Lundie for the 2023/2024 BC Hockey League season.

Powell River Kings have announced the signing of 2006-born forward Carter Lundie for the 2023/2024 BC Hockey League season.

Lundie is not an unfamiliar name to Kings’ fans as he suited up for three games as an affiliate player during the 2022/2023 season. He scored in his second game on New Year’s Eve against Alberni Valley Bulldogs.

“Carter came to our spring camp last year, and has really impressed us through this season,” said Kings' general manager Chad van Diemen. “He had a very good year with Burnaby Winter Club and played well in his games when we were able to get him into our lineup as an affiliate.”

Lundie, who is from North Vancouver, spent the past season at the Burnaby Winter Club academy, playing for the U18 prep team. In 32 games he scored 19 goals and added 13 assists.

“He’s had solid coaching and he plays the game the right way, with good habits.” added van Diemen. “We are pretty excited that he’s chosen to play in Powell River and look forward to getting him into a Kings’ jersey right away.”

Lundie will look to make one last good impression as an affiliate before he becomes an official member of the team next year, as he is expected to play in each of the final three regular season games in the Lower Mainland this weekend.
