How quickly rumours can spread. Many Powell River area residents use Facebook; this isn’t news to anyone. They love their groups, chats, events, photos, and for news to come quickly and conveniently, and the social media giant provides that.

We’ve all felt stuck, like we’re trapped between a rock and a hard place and there’s no escape. We’ve felt the mundane crash over and over and over us for too long, and drive us to the point where we want to pull our hair out.

We haven’t asked our first ministers to put on the Big Boy Pants for some time. They’ve been able to be children. Now it is time.

A friend in Florence told me everyone there is talking about the coronavirus, or COVID-19, which has arrived in Italy with a vengeance.
