British Columbians are familiar with Alberta premier-designate Jason Kenney’s top-line promises — “turn off the taps” on B.C. if need be, eliminate Alberta’s carbon tax and generally restore the province’s right-wing outlook.

What do you think about this week's editorial cartoon?

Nova Scotia recently became the first North American jurisdiction to pass legislation that presumes consent for organ donation. BC and other Canadian provinces should follow suit.

The single most dismaying political development in B.C. so far this century is the deterioration in our relationship with Alberta. They are friends and family, partners and neighbours.

The legislature is now in its two-week Easter recess and the break could not have come at a better time, given some of the oddities that characterized the session’s first half.

I must confess that I have personal bias and beliefs. I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t. Maybe Steve Short is the exception that proves the rule [“Letters: Head in the sand ,” April 4].

What seems to be the mantra of companies that manufacture household items? Baffle the customers! Baffle is a funny-sounding word, but etymology reveals a sinister side.

I take exception to George Orchiston claiming something in a newspaper of public record that he knows is not true.

The byelection is over. The electorate that voted has spoken loud and clear. I have congratulated Mr. Doubt on his win, and Mr. Rebane on his efforts and commitment to run for public office.
