Climate Action Powell River and VIU professor urge people to care about climate change

I very much enjoyed the editorial on the joy of blackberries in the last Peak [“Bumper crop arrives just in time for Powell River's Blackberry Festival,” August 9]].

What do you think about this week's editorial cartoon?

Recent downpours of rain in the Powell River area sandwiched between hot and dry spells have given the popular, albeit invasive, blackberry a perfect environment to flourish.

I asked city staff and council a few years ago if they would define/quantify their objective/strategy: “Living within our means” [“ Finance committee discussion focuses on municipal tax increases ,” July 30]. I’m dating myself.

A recent proposal by City of Powell River mayor Dave Formosa to form a community advisory finance committee received support from some councillors at a meeting on Thursday, July 25.
