Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), of which I am a proud member, is currently involved in a campaign called “Delivering Community Power.

I am responding to Cindy Ling’s letter [“ Move out of Powell River or step aside ,” March 20].

New Democrats in opposition were strident critics of the lack of guarantees for B.C. workers in the deal the B.C. Liberal government was trying to put together for a liquefied-natural-gas plant.

Edward Sanderson suggested I was implying that volcanic eruptions contribute to global warming, which is incorrect [“Letters: Following the money,” March 29].

Is there no place left that is sacred; will there be no place to escape to any longer? Must we always push the limits in our attempts to maximize the profit and minimize nature’s beauty? Do we really need to continue to scar the land all in the name

Many people breathed a sigh of relief when it was announced that Paper Excellence, which owns the Howe Sound Pulp and Paper Corporation mill in Port Mellon, finalized the purchase of Catalyst Paper Corporation in Powell River.
