Are you eager to reinvent yourself in 2021? Or at least use the new year to conquer your unresolved excuses for not being able to achieve the life you desire? Yes, it’s that time of year again.

As we move on from what I call the year that wasn’t, it’s probably good to remind ourselves of what was accomplished.

2020 was a year we will all remember for the health and economic crisis that unexpectedly took hold of our country, our communities, and our entire global society.

The frenzy of lining up to send packages, zipping out for string lights and stocking the fridge with eggnog is done. As you relax from what may have been a busy few weeks, you might survey your recycling box to find it overflowing.

More than most others, 2020 was a year to reflect on the strength, resolve and fortitude of Powell River. I am truly proud to be mayor of a city that has remained so steadfast in the efforts for a healthy community.
